The Mission

Welcome to Butter Thy Soul - a virtual corner and one-stop shop for showcasing all things soul-centered businesses, artisanship, and hobbies, along with the people behind them!

We're talking bread-making, kombucha-brewing, calligraphy-writing trailblazers.

Each week, we'll chat with the creators behind these businesses to pick their brains and learn the ins and outs of what makes a passion.

What inspired them to start their creative pursuits and hobbies? How has it fulfilled their lives? What challenges did they face along the way? We figure it out right along with you.

The mission here is twofold: The ideal life should be equal parts purposeful and lighthearted.

We aim to help our readers cultivate a strong foundation of self-esteem through the simple act of trying new things. Butter Thy Soul is here to expand the hearts and minds of people about the endless ways they can tap into their creative potential - minus the pressure of "embarrassing themselves" or perfectionism through the lens of entrepreneurs and hobbyists.

We know the following to be true: to be human is to be a creative, creativity is boundless, and it does not have to be in the most obvious of ways.

Baking a delicious chocolate cake paired with that brand new cream cheese frosting you wanted to try makes you a creative.

Tending to the soil to plant a quaint herb garden complete with thyme, rosemary, and mint to sprinkle more flavor onto your dinners makes you a creative.

Figuring out the most efficient way to put together a 1000-piece puzzle makes you a creative.

It's about the action, emotion, and joyous alignment of DOING something that makes you feel reinvigorated and good about yourself.

To put it simply, we hope to inspire our readers to return to the importance of play by getting their hands dirty, starting a creative hobby, and rediscovering that childlike curiosity we tend to lose along the way to "responsible" adulthood.

And we hope you join us for it.

Even if it's just for a fleeting moment on a Monday afternoon during a 15-minute lunch break. You never know where a spark of inspiration may lead you on your own personal journey!
